Introduction

The TNA-303L-65-LIB (link-in-a-box) is a kit containing 2 x TNA-303L-65 units that have been preconfigured to quickly make a secured point-to-point link out of the box using the wireless 60GHz band.

The operating mode of each unit can be determined by examining the "pair id" associated with the unit.

  • Units that have an "M-" prefix will operate in point-to-point master mode. This unit should be connected back to your upstream network by wire.

  • Units that have an "S-" prefix will operate in point-to-point slave mode.  This unit will be the other wireless side of the link, and will provide connectivity to whatever is connected to the data port of the unit (a switch, security camera, a home router, etc...).  It will need to be pointed at the master unit in order to make a link.

Quick Setup

Master unit

  1.  Plug the power cable attached to the included PoE adapter into an outlet.

  2. Refer to the diagram at the bottom of this page to locate the device's ethernet POE-in port. Plug one side of an ethernet cable into the adapter’s POE port, and the other into the master device’s 1G ETH0 PoE-in port.

  3. Plug a network cable from the data port of the adapter and into your upstream network's switch or router.

Note: If the LEDs are blinking quickly, the device is performing an internal firmware upgrade.  Do not unplug the unit until the fast blinking stops.

  4. The device will now be powered on and will be ready for the other side to connect.  Refer to the LED pattern table at the bottom of the page to understand when the station has connected.  If the LEDs are slow blinking, it indicates the master is still waiting for the slave to connect.

  5. Please login to the unit according to the instructions listed here and check to see if you see a notice for a new firmware available on the dashboard. If so, it's important that your units be updated before put into operation

Slave unit

  1. Plug the power cable attached to the included PoE adapter into an outlet.

  2. Plug one side of an ethernet cable into the adapter’s POE port, and the other into the master device’s 1G ETH0 PoE-in port.  This will power on the slave unit.

Note: If the LEDs are blinking quickly, the device is performing an internal firmware upgrade.  Do not unplug the unit until the fast blinking stops.

  3. The device will not be powered on and will begin searching for the associated master.

  4.  Aim the station unit in the general direction of the master.  There must be clear line of sight in order to make a link.  While the slave unit is scanning, the first signal LED will be blinking slowly. Once it makes a link with the master side, the LEDs will become solid to indicate signal strength. Please refer to the LED patterns table below for more information.

  5. If the signal is low, try to lightly aiming the units.  Please keep in mind that signal LEDs update every 3 or 4 seconds.  For additional troubleshooting and configuration options, please refer to the full TNA-303L-65 user manual.

  6. Please login to the unit according to the instructions listed here and check to see if you see a notice for a new firmware available on the dashboard. If so, it's important that your units be updated before put into operation.
