Scenarios
The following scenarios were tested outdoors:
Scenario 1: Back-to-back, no vertical separation | Scenario 2: Back-to-back with .5m vertical separation |
Test details
Unit 1: TNA-301 configured in Station Mode
Unit 2: TNA-301 configured in Access Point mode
Both units were configured to have the same SSID, security keys, etc. Testing was performed in a semi-urban area with buildings in the immediate vicinity. The AP And Station were located in a position on the pole to try to minimize reflections from nearby structures.
Test Results
For both scenarios, there was no observable interference. Unit 2, the device operating in station mode, did not detect any other access points near by.
Other Notes
A third test was performed with the AP and station being positioned at a 90° angle away from each other on the pole, as shown in the diagram to the right. The results however were inconclusive due to reflections from nearby structures. Additional testing in a less dense area will be performed in the future. |
Recommendations
